Today I actually met another OLFer face to face for the first time!!!! I have
been one this forum for a bit and I feel like we are a community of friends,
but cyberfriends. I only know what some of you look like from your bios.

Today I actually met TWO of you!!!
J. Brown and his lovely wife from Denver was visiting so they came by, and
Darren Whitley our
newest member came by. It is a pleasure to actually meet members of this
fine forum. We had a nice visit. I think that Darren W will be bitten by the
bug and be addicted like the rest of us.
Anytime anyone is visiting beautiful San Diego, give me a buzz and come on
over for a visit

How many apartments do you have control of Serge? Get all the tenants to plan next summer's vacation at the same time and invite the whole OLF to stay with you!!!!!   Sounds like a plan to me.

Andy, thanks for your hospitality. Its always good to see how other folks' shops are set up and to play someone elses guitars, how they look, etc.
BTW, Andy's guitars will blow you away in person. They play very nice and sound great, but the intricate inlay work and the finish is just mind-blowing. Beautiful stuff to say the least. La Jolla is of one of my favorite places in the country, so that doesn't hurt, either.

Good one Ron, the building i'm working in has only 122 apts, i would have to send people out out the 5 buildings which have 625 apts total to accomodate every member here, we only have a swimming pool capable of receiving 20 people at a time and 1 small corner store for beer but we'd have a heck of a party!

Thanks, Serge, I did know that.   Actually my wife and I are considering a train trip across Canada. It starts in Totonto and ends in Vancouver. Won't happen this summer, but it is in our plans.

Ron, it'd be great if that train was leaving from Ottawa but Toronto ain't so far from here either, who knows what can happen in a year! That trip sounds like a great idea, you'll be able to see a lot of things!

Hey Ron, Toronto is only half way across Canada (from Vancouver)! But if you do decide to make the trip you let us know. A bunch of us might find a way to meet you. I am quite a bit north of Vancouver, 500 air miles and about 1000 miles by road....but hey, it would good to see you!

Nice thought, Shane, I appreciate that. I've never been surrounded by Canadians before, but I think it would be fun.


Yeah, I know Toronto isn't on the edge, but that's where the trip starts. We're also planning a future trip to New England and, hopefully, all around Nova Scotia. Someday.

We've made so many new friends here on the OLF that meeting different members can become part of our future vacations.
I like that.

Ya I know...Canadians can be scary...all them hockey sticks, parka's and all....But hey! We have Serge!

Anyway, your trip will be GREAT!! There is still lots of open Country up here. Our family drives to Manitoba every summer to see my wife's family. Her grandmother ("great grand buddy" to the kids) is 95 years old this year. The trip takes three day each way, and tha is about 10 hours a day on the road. Lots of open highway though.

Let us know though!

Yeah Ron, as Shane said, i'd go and visit you in Toronto anytime bud, would be kind of fun to hang out a bit before you leave on that train, still gives me a year to prepare this little trip! Since i'm working 1 week end out of every 5, it's just kind of hard to predict a long time in advance but i would manage to trade a working week end with a co-worker if i had to!

Andy,

Thanks so much for your hospitality! I'll have to second J. Brown's comments on your guitars. That cocobolo/cedar combo guitar (we'll call it #1) was incredible! By the time I left your house, I was kind of on overload with new information.

More than anything though, I left with a real feeling of inspiration. Thanks again for such a great welcome to the OLF community!
